Hello everyone! We've been a bit quiet on social media lately, but that's only because we've been hard at work behind the scenes! We've just returned from an exciting meeting where we presented a shared home office design to a wonderful couple, and we're thrilled to say they absolutely adored it and are eager to move forward with the project! The husband was particularly impressed with the thoughtful design layout and the organization solutions for his work files. Meanwhile, the wife was in love with the tranquil color palette and all the accent decor we proposed. In just under two months, we’ll be transforming their shared office space and giving them a grand reveal. Stay tuned! ❤️

Often times, our clients will come to us with an item that they want to incorporate into a room design. Sometimes this is a color, an image, or piece of artwork. It makes a great starting off point! We designed a nursery for our client’s baby girl and she requested to incorporate this beautifully patterned wall tapestry that she got from a trip to Guatemala. The tapestry is a special piece that is very near and dear to her heart. We built the look of the room around this unique piece and we were so inspired by its vibrant colors. Shades of pink and light wood tones were used as the base for the overall color scheme and added in accents of mustard yellow and shades of blue for a fun pop! One of our favorite D&B designs to date 🥰

But there are ways to do it without being over-the-top. When it comes to choosing thematic items, avoid thematic furnishings. Instead, choose thematic items that are smaller and less expensive that can easily be traded out as they grow. Choose thematic accent decor items, such as artwork, throw pillows, and toys. For example, if your child wants an equestrian bedroom makeover, it’s much easier (and affordable) to switch out a horse pillow cover than a horse stable bed frame.
